http://hwbot.org/news/10899_hwbot_team_cup_2014_announced_30_stages_from _june_1st_until_august_31st/

It has been a long wait for the Team Cup fanatics, but its finally here! The HWBOT Team Cup 2014 continues the tradition of the Team Cup series featuring a challenging series of benchmarks to be run with a wide variety of hardware. Just like the previous years, the Team Cup is split up in separate competitions. This year we have four: a CPU challenge, a GPU challenge, a Memory challenge and a Miscellaneous challenge.

Below you can find an overview of the benchmark and hardware limitations in the four sub competitions.

The timeframe is the same for each of the sub-competitions. We start on June 1st 12PM GMT+0 and wrap things up on August 31st 12PM GMT+0. Over the course of the three months you can submit to any of the stages in the four sub-competitions and gather points for your team. On August 24 1PM GMT+0, seven days before the end of the competition, an elimination takes place and only the five best teams will be allowed to continue submitting until the very end.

Will Madshrimps from Belgium dominate the Team Cup again, or is Overclock.net out for revenge? Amongst the favorites we must definitely include the HwBox team from Greece as they dominated all the warm-up rounds. Or maybe this year well see an outsider capture the gold. Lets wait and see!

Good luck to everyone!

Perfect weather here for me to enter a Comp :D

And it's about time I got some submissions up for the team, i've been rather slack haha

Looking at all the different benchmarks, I only see a few I can compete in, excuse me, I mean submit a score in. I don't have the hardware or the Cooling . It does look like fun

It's a shame to make a challenge and restrict participants by HW used in this way.
I only see Intel CPU freq, 780Ti FSE, DDR3 freq and RB as accessible sub-competitions.

I think it is a good chance for us, so we should check who is willing to join.

We need to compile a list of hardware that can compete. So place all state the hardware that you own and can bench. That way we have a clear overview of the options.

I will write all in this list in this post and update with posted hardware per member!

SC1: CPU Challenge: hardware needed: hardware available: Team member name:
#1: CPU-Z % OC Intel
#2: CPU % OC AMD
#3: Single Core Cinebench R11.5
#4: AMD K6 3DMark2000
#5: Yonah SuperPI 1M
#6: Via SuperPI 32M
#7: Athlon XP PiFast
#8: Pentium II Cinebench 2003
#9: Raspberry PI HWBOT Prime
#10: Q6600 Wprime 1024M

Dart,
you see what I see then, but how do we compete against the XOCers.

Henkenator68NL
06-10-2014, 11:36 PM
Isn't it time, to see if we can try to get some fresh blood in the contest? I fear that if nobody even tries that in 10 yeears time the same teams are still competing amoungst each other. Probably all sponsored, so no lack of hardware there. I say at least we can least pull all stuff out of the boxes we all probably got lying around and see if any hardware fits the bill. Maybe we can send some sttuff from one to another. Who knows, if we manage to get at least the necessary hardware amoungst us... We could give it a shot. How do you guys feel about this?

HiVizMan
06-11-2014, 08:09 AM
Actually guys it is a good contest to play in, what it is as a contest is aimed at and for the hardware masters type bencher and the OC'r. Now most top teams have one hardware grinder, that is a bloke who focuses on hardware points. We do not as yet but that will come.

OCN was not a top team four years ago. I joined them with some mates and we pushed benching on the forum, being a mid 20's team hard-work and team effort pushed OCN up to a top ten place and then finally to the top of the tree. Other stuff helped of course like OCX team who had been the far and away best team for years dropping out of the scene. But I digress. We can be as good as we want to be. Warning - benching should be for fun and not for points. The points are there to give a comparison or easy reference but should never be the reason.

Create a list, use a xl spreadsheet of the different hardware needed and share that spreadsheet via google docs with the team. Then folks can see what they have. Often it is just as much about tactics than the highest bench score in the team cup. (hmm or was that for the country cup???)

Go for it guys if you want help with a benchmark just ask and we can share what we know.

LOL right I forgot.

Actually that is not going to be an issue I can assure you. If you wish to make sure simply as one of the staff at HWBOT. If you had an ES cpu that the retail has only been released a day ago or a week ago then they get tense.

Once you have the hardware spread sheet then we can see what hardware we all have and give it a go.

I have not really looked at the contest as yet but I am sure I may be able to do one or two of the benchmarks if I can find my hardware - wife has locked it away.

I hope to have some hardware to bench as well but a quick look and i dont think I have what I need. All I can do is the realbench. although I do have a striker II I might have a es8500 aswell.

I think its best to share the spreadsheet with google docs.

The last things are almost done, some formulas didn't make it correctly. When that ls done, it will be available.

To able to give you guys editing permission for the form, please pm me your email address, so I can setup the necessary stuff.

The list has grown rather big. Essentially every AMD and INTEL cpu and Nvidia and AMD gpu (to date) is in the list/database. For each test I created a separate hardware list, that pulls only the hardware from the database that is applicable.

On to the last bits!

Great Job, you're doing for the team cup. Ihope to have rebuild my system for he Brazilian challenge tomorrow. And go through heaps and heaps of boxes. I have think I have S3 cards, definitely Athlon, athlon xp, Amd Sempron, and a lot more like pentium 1 and 2.. Also AGP and PCI gpus, don't know if I have motherbords to test is on but thats just a bit of fiddling around. I am not shure if all works 100 but they where working when I boxed them. If its been added to the list we should easily find out who got what. So other peeps, please join the fun, check the spreadsheet even if you only have 1 thing found on list, it would be great that we can bench that part. Ps Ill need your Gmail address so I can invite you. You need gmail account to edit the sheet

I grabbed a box from my:
" Do not enter - Do not Touch - Or you will Suffer - Basement

First stack was a pile of memory sticks, however mu gray matter seems reluctant about telling me what is what.

So if any off you have a (preferebly) visual list of all previous memory versions / slots, please send it to me. That way I hope I can find some stuff for the Team Cup.

Like this one for example:
38081

Also Found this GPU:

And have lots more, takes a little time to identify and sort it all out

Holy cow Henk!! looks like you hit a computer museum!! lol. That EDO RAM is pretty old, if memory serves me right, it's earlyish Pentium Era...i'm talking like Pentium 166, maybe 233...which is also when I think DIMM sticks were being used more often by Manufacturers.

As for the VGA, that too is pretty old. S3 Trio cards weren't too bad in their time, but, IIRC they were the "budget" end of pricing. PCI cards.

Thank you :-) I am surprised by the fact that google sheets, which is completely free, does on large parts do the same as MS Excel does. Some data filtering and formulas I had to reprogrammed but that was very intuitive. The ease of sharing is promising, I think this can help us more. For example a shared database filled by members, as means of sharing hints, tweaks etc. I always love creating tools that take some time to build but in the end make data more accessible and life a bit easier. This goes for the Teamcup list to. Thanks for the kind words guys

Guys,

I have made a listing of the current standing in the Hwbot Team cup 2014.

The intention was to embed the Google Sheet containing the standing, so I can update is automatically, but haven't been able to get this working (yet).

Even though we only submitted on a few stages we are not doing bad, so ...

Please check the Hardware List to see if you can enter in that specific area. (you need to have a google account and have pm-ed me your gmail address to view and edit that list).

Technically we should have the 50 pts for the Snapdragon 800 HWBOT Prime stage because my 2805 pps result should be up top. But no idea why it isn't updated yet. lol If someone can look into it, it'd be great. :p

with regards to the HTML on the forum: is the forum not based on BBcode? Some fora have the option to embed sheets with BBcode.
i have seen special commands for google documents/sheets/forms, like:

I will be moving house this coming Monday and I am not sure when I will be back online after that day and by the time the hardware came to me from the US, the comp would be over. I may not be able to participate right now, but I won't stand in the way of someone else who can :)

I seem to have gotten my 4960X and dual 780ti's dialed in and want to complete some 3D benchmarks this weekend before I tear it down and switch setups. But maybe next week I will setup this thing, I have a 8800 gtx and see what if it still fires up, I have never been good at 3D 01 but I can at least see if the system still works before I send it to anyone, my GTX 580 doesn't clock very well to compete in Catzilla

I have just tested an Asus A8V-VM, socket 939 with an AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+, its working fine. If you don't succeed with your 8800GTX, I certainly can try to bench it!

OK, I'll try and connect a power supply this weekend and see if any of it comes to life, no since in shipping dead hardware, I don't have water blocks,

Keep me posted! I have just assembled a socket 462 Athlon 4200+, with and 3450 512mb AGP gpu, its working fine, I hope to get some nice results for the SC2 AGP aquamark test.

OK so the CPU does have a good IMC and good BCLK well done there mate.

That just cracked me up for some reason. I have about 20 VGA's without any coolers - I just toss the stock coolers in the bin when they get here.

Guys the Team cup is already running for a while, remaining time 63 days. So more than enough time to get more scores and rise in the ranking!

Currently our team is in 11th position.... but still on 18 of the 31 Benches we have not submitted any scores yet.
Check your Hardware stack, your neighbors, hell even your grand parents (presuming the are still around, no offense intended).
If you have any of the listed stuff ... SUBMIT

We are moving house this week. Once that is done I will have a dedicated work space to bench old hardware. I shall post some scores for the team in the next three weeks.

As a member of ROG Supreme OC I want to submit a RB V2 score but have doubts.
What do they means by runing RB V2 at default settings?

That is the latest or offical ROG RB and you do not make any changes to the benchmark, such as disabling internal settings.

You can OC your system as normal and run the bench as normal will all the tweaks you like. Cos you do not make any changes to the actual benchmark application itself.

I do not find any rules for RB. Looks like Beta Benchmarks have no rules.

Is his score 1st submission or more? I don't think it really matters though. i'm not sure, not competed in the Team Challenge, cos I have an Engineering Sample haha

I have no idea. I have been chasing him on RB Leadership Board...and never thought I could beat him...and much less at a lower clock.
You can send me that Engineering Sample...lol

LOL I would, but then i'd have no CPU in my system...though I do have a RIIIE and an i7 930 :p oh and during comps on HWBot, ES Hardware is not allowed for submissions.
