I just purchased a G53SW and added a 128GB Crucial M4 SSD. I reinstalled a clean copy of windows and loaded all the drivers. Everything seems to be working great, with exception of one problem I noticed.

From a cold boot, I'll get the Asus splash screen, followed by a blank screen that goes nowhere. If I leave it sit there, after a few minutes it will eventually reboot itself, then go into windows without a problem. From the cold boot, if I go into the BIOS, then immediately exit, it will boot into windows without any problem.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? It's almost like the SSD drive is not being initialized in time, but that is just a theory.

Brosto, I can't really give you any help, but to tell you that I have the same 128gb Crucial M4 SSD and have not experienced this issue.

Try enabling boot logging in Windows 7 (http://windows7themes.net/enable-boot-logging-in-windows-7.html) to see if that can help you troubleshoot your issue. Unfortunately, your problem may begin before logging starts, but it may be worth a shot.

Is your system configured to use 2 monitors? After I flashed the BIOS of my 2 monitor system, it booted to a black screen on my laptop. When I turned on my TV 2nd monitor, I saw it was looking for me to configure ExpressGate Cloud language options there.

I just updated the firmware on the m4 SSD to version 009. This corrected the issue.

What version did you have before updating to 009?
