Challenge: Realbench 2.2 GIMP time

Result: Post a screenshot of just the GIMP run on Realbench 2.2 with your time visible, along with CPU-Z tabs of CPU/memory freq.

----------------------
Score Chart
----------------------

(Reasoning: for possible future event, I would love to know if GIMP-only benchmarking is a feasible thing for competing, since GIMP is very receptive to CPU+memory frequency/timings.)

But the Gimp is sleeping....

Are ball gags necessary?

And which bit is the GIMP bit? The first picture editing bit.....

EDIT: Yes....first bit..it says that in Realbench duh!

With Arne here, my gimp is only due to come out of his box on Sunday afternoon for his weekly er... educations session.

Sounds like fun guys lets get to it.

Certainly makes sense since GIMP test affects total score at most and makes the whole test to be tweaked\tuned mostly for GIMP.

Too bad I degredated my CPU once again submitting for HIViz's challenge :p

Oh I know it's not required but if you make one and even if it's a mini comp it has to be used! Will try more tweaking and post... ;)

The single channel mem is not on purpose though, the cpu has a damaged contact pad so it's sort of semi broken :)

Only 2200 memory as well! Single channel mem is typically more efficient than dual, and GIMP is all about mem efficiency.

2400 :) Since I damaged the contact pad on this cpu it just wont tweak mem, these sticks will do 2666 CL9 for benching. And I have PSC sticks that'll do 2400Mhz CL7 but I can only get the XMP profiles to run. Just tRAS, command rate 1, and tWCL set to 6 since they're samsung IC's.

So it's a good idea to run singel channel for people with a fully working cpu also? :)

nice twisted1

Thanks menthol! You should be able to beat that with ease with your haswell. I should be getting a Pentium anniversary edition today speaking of haswell, will be interesting to see how that OC's.

If you're running Ivy-E, I think you can disable HT and all but 4 cores. So you can OC moooar! :)

Hmmm all good ideas....will give them a try....have to dig out my Pi RAM and see if it plays nice with IB-E....:)

This is as far as I've taken this 4790K. Maybe more later.

Ya know, twisted, now I think I'll get one of those Pentia, too. Might be fun to crank it through a few HWBOT benchmarks too.

hahahahahaha I should think you do. It will do 5.741Mhz rock solid mate, if you have the cooling - I your motherboard does not like the 57x multi (the cpu does it no worries) then change your BCLK to 104.3 and you will be good to go at those voltages.

It's so damn hot here right now I don't want to push it. Probably the hottest few days so far this summer, like 25-28C today.

This cpu is amazing, I can back down on the Vcore and it's still stable. And just bump the multi w/o increasing Vcore much.

Nice work Twisted,

you are aware of the Team Cup 2014?

Your scores/setting apply for some stage already (did you check other stages where you could contribute)?
SC1 Intel CPU-Z OC%....... (current Team Top = 57,7%) I think you already can beat this... Please do
SC3 stage Sandy Bridge Memory Frequency? Surely you must be able to put up a real nice score there, if so please do!

AND ANYBODY WITH A 32GB DRAM KIT PLEASE POST UP FOR 32GB DRAM FREQUENCY!

HiVizMan

OK I have this and can help I think just need to find the energy to do some benching.

@Twisted yeah that is a diamond of a 2600K enjoy it and do not forget to send it back home to Mummy and Daddy. :D :D

I'm was not aware of that, I've had the 2600k up to 5650Mhz just for validation(only tried once for fun, might go higher). Do they count the cpu speed from base clock or the max turbo clock?

And I think this cpu clocks BLCK pretty good so I should be able to get some decent mem clocks.

I'm enjoying it very much, I can't belive how high it clocks on very little Vcore. Seems like just above 1.6V is all you really need for any clock :)

HiVizMan

Yeah that is correct. The max benchable I was ever able to get from it was 5741Mhz and that was stable for everything I could bench with it.

What kind of BCLK are you getting that you say it is good? I guess I was spoilt because it booted for me at 57x.

Remember to enable the PLL overrider.

OK so this 'test' was because we were trying to get this into an upcoming OC contest with HWBot, but seems we might have to miss this one, however we do have plans for RB to be part of future OC event with prizes :):)

Big thanks for everyone giving it a go!

Well, that's a very good question... after looking at the scores... I haven't got a clue how they calculate the percentage... Anybody a clue?

It is the frequency value shown on the CPUz validation.

I haven't tried BCLK OC, I assumed it was good as the cpu is great :) Will try later today, temp is 30C here now, can't stand this kind of heat.

Submitted 5683Mhz, I had it up to 5710Mhz but it crashed just as i pressed submit.

I think I have a E5200 that'll do better though. 2.5Ghz stock and I've benched it @4.5Ghz.

I've tried some BCLK oc(for sandy mem clock) , I've got 105mhz so far, above that it locks up.
