I just picked up my G750JM and am absolutley ecstatic to get going. Do any of you veterans have any tips on what I should do from a fresh power on?

What about Nvidia beta drivers? I think I read that those are ok?

The very latest nVidia drivers are giving BSOD (power state issues) with some people that have the 800 series GPUs. Just keep an eye... if you update and start getting BSODs, at least you already know the issue...

Just a regular uninstall from the programs and features area or that and the registry files?

Ok I'll do that as well. Also according to this http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/73780/en-us 335.23 is not compatable with the 860m that is in the G750JM.

And, there is a pretty nice list by "hmscott" of things to do for optimal experience... (just posted it too) here's the link http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?48841-Question-about-Power4Gear-Hybrid&country=&status=

I think you the 340 is the compatible one.

Which specific driver?

Which specific driver?

jancy, go to nvidia.com, drivers, and advanced driver search for All drivers including BETA

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

Here is an example using the US site, for 880m Windows 8.1 x64, and the results include 340.43 BETA

And people are reporting 340.43 is solid?

And people are reporting 340.43 is solid?

jancy, yes and no, most say yes it is stable, others say more stable but they still get the occasional crash - 340.43 goes longer between crashes...

It sounds like a driver problem that is going to take new releases to fully work out... 332.60 may be the most stable.

Well I hope it does get sorted out because I am loving this laptop!

Using the GeForce Experience tool, the latest non beta drivers do cause the Blue Screen of unhappy face constantly, however the 340.43 beta drivers have been working fine on my G750JM

Hello guys, it seems Asus have provided a new stable driver for the 860M... Its a modified version of 337.88. All you need to do is visit the 750JM drivers support page and download it, OR
Here's the direct link http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/DriversForWin8.1/VGA/VGA_nVidia_Verde_Win81_64_VER918133788.zip
