What is the maximum refresh rate for HDMI out on the G750JZ? Is this getting limited by the integrated intel GPU even when forcing NVIDIA?

My concern is due to the following post: http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2ae65d/living_off_grid_best_current_laptop_for_oculus/ciu5r1k

I plan on using this laptop for VR game development and I need to have a minimum of 1080P 75hz via HDMI. Based on that redditors post, it appears that Optimus chipsets are limited to 60hz over HDMI, is this true?

If so, does the thunderbolt port have the same limitations if I use an HDMI adapter?

Thanks!

That depends on the resolution. HDMI 1.4a has the current specifications: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Version_1.4

Seeing as how version 1.2 can handle 1080p @ 60 Hz, it's safe to say that 1.4 can do 1080p @ 75 Hz. Higher resolutions mean more bandwidth, so the higher you go, the lower the refresh rate you'll be able to run at.

Usually DP (DisplayPort) is a more viable option.

After some research it appears that using the HDMI port isn't going to work due to the 60hz limitation. My plan now is to use the mini-DisplayPort with a DP to HDMI 1.4b adapter. I know I can get higher refresh rates with DP to DVI-DL but the device I am connecting to only has HDMI 1.4b input so hopefully this adapter will work. I would like to confirm before buying it. Nvidia was stumped and said they would get back to me after some research.
