Hello, the name's Steven.

I am trying to find out what hardware is in my G750JW. NO, not the specs of the computer. I would like to know what each piece of hardware that makes up this laptop is specifically. I am doing this because I want to install a Linux OS and while looking for drivers, I thought to myself, "hey, it's my computer, I want to know what pieces make it tick!" blasphemy, right? To help, let us first get some documentation:

Bought from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-G750JW-DB71-17-3-Inch-Laptop-Black/dp/B00COQIKB4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377866142&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+750jw

Nice chunk of specs:
http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ROG_G750JW/specifications/

I called ASUS tech support (888.678.3688) and after a bit of phone tag, I was able to get this information:

NVIDIA graphics card (duh.)
Jaguar-B Hard Drive (the 1TB, 5400rpm kind)
ASUS Motherboard
Samsung RAM
AZWave Camera
AZWave Networking card
PLDS DVD Drive

This is a good start, but I would like to know the the specifics of each such as part numbers and the like. The graphics and processor are the only parts I can really identify.

Any help would be great!

if you have win preinstalled run HardwareMonitor, or AIDA64, or run a live cd (or usb if possible) win image and those programs.
I think its all possible, thou i didnt try to run a live usb.

You can get Speccy by Piriform. It provides all information including serial numbers, versions, drivers (if any), Hardware ID, etc. Pretty nifty tool.
