Hey Guys,

I had a thread recently with a broken CPU Fan in a G750JS and ever since then I am thinking .. "maybe I should go overkill and by a JZ"
Reading through countless of different versions (at least in Germany it's crazy) I'm still not sure.

My old XMG P504 was with me for almost 4 Years and still played everything with a 460M.
I'm not travelling too much but if it's more then just 1-2 days - occassional LANs included.

I know both of them are one of the most silent and cool notebooks you can get and that is the MOST important thing for me
CPU is the same, RAM too, as far as I am aware the JZ is a bit bigger and heavier even and obviously has the better GPU.

Is there anything else that could shift my tendencies to on or another ? one even more silent than the other ? more stable, better screen (IPS ?) etc etc.

I plan to buy the Notebook for more than a year or two so when it comes to lifetime or compatibility in the future the 880M is better but then again I have a good gaming rig at home which I'm planning to upgrade to the latest 980GTX this year.

Besides that, the price difference here is 1600 to 2000.

Any input appreciated just not sure if a better GPU is worth the extra 400 oO

Renraven, definately the JZ, between the JS and JZ.

The JZ runs cooler than the JS, and if you step up to the RAID0 model you will get awesome IO throughput. Definitely the JZ.

And, if you want to never worry about what GPU is going to run my app peace of mind, between the JZ and the JH, get the JH without Optimus.

With the JH vs the JZ, you don't need to manually switch on the Full fan GPU option when gaming for hours like on the JZ (JS/JM too), the JH automatically controls the full fan range automatically.

IDK if you can find a JH in your area, but if you find a JH with the RAID0, it will be a cheaper model than the JZ with the RAID0 too, with the same performance and no worry's about Optimus compatibility for gaming.

Let us know what you end up getting :)

Hi!

I had the JH in mind first but it's quite impossible to still find one around here and if so then way more expensive than the JZ or heavily used. :(

Is Optimus that much of a problem in general ? I know I had to twek ArcheAge with NvidiaInspector to use the 870 but I thought it was because the game was still in Alpha.

/EDIT
Found a used JH for 1450 on ebay with one year warranty left ... hmm .. "as new" even. damn ! :D building a PC is surprisingly much more easy!
