Every few restarts my monitor driver doesn't understand with the rest somehow and I get a yellow mark on the monitor driver. What helps is to uninstall it and install nvidia drivers again, clean. It's driving me nuts a bit. Anybody else tackling with that?

Mikkrutel, you shouldn't be having this problem. The Monitor device Generic PnP Monitor should remain stable - no Yellow marker. That is a sign of a problem with a device - not responding or missing.

You should report it to Asus for troubleshooting / RMA. File a Technical Inquiry describing the problem, maybe attach a screen shot of it when it happens.

You can create a login, register your laptop, and file the Technical Inquiry here:

https://vip.asus.com

If you have recently purchased, and are still within the return period, it would be faster to swap it for a new one at your vendor/seller.

Please come back and let us know how it works out :)

pokerface, there have been Monitor drivers for monitors for many years, there are certainly still monitor drivers. Try to update the monitor driver for your G750, and Choose from installed drivers, uncheck "show compatible hardware" for the device, and look at the huge list of manufacturers listed with many drivers specific for LCD panels, monitors, and output devices.

It is not happening in win 8. Only on the ssd with clean win 8.1 install on it.

When it happens im stuck in the login screen with unresponsive mouse and keyboard. Restarting to safe mode, uninstalling display drivers and monitor drivers helps but just for a few restarts.

Mikkrutel, that's odd, if it doesn't show as a problem in 8.0, but only in 8.1, it might be you need to complete all the updates for 8.1, and update all the drivers - did you do that already?

No one else has reported this problem - before during or after Windows 8.1 release.

It could be a hardware issue that for some reason only shows up in Windows 8.1... if you report the problem for RMA, be sure and mention all the pertinent info to Asus so they can debug correctly. If Asus tests on the JW release OS then the problem won't show up, so they need to know it only shows up in Windows 8.1.

Here is the list of places to find updates for the hardware drivers - check your Programs and Features for what is already installed, and download newer versions for Windows 8.1 to install on Windows 8.1.

Be sure and update the Chipset driver, Intel INF - near end of this list.

Here is the list of places I look for updates for my G750JH; the best way to get a stable fully functioning G750/G751 is to update all the drivers / apps to the latest Windows 8.1 release.

The G750JW/JX/JH/JM/JS/JZ download areas haven't had new updates for a while, BIOS updates still happen in your model's support area, so check there from time to time.

The G750/G751/551/500/etc share the same basic hardware components; check support download areas for new hardware for newer drivers.

Asus maintains central support areas for hardware component features common to all products, those areas usually have the latest drivers after new hardware releases, sometimes there is a lag before the newer drivers show up there, so still to new product releases support downloads for the latest drivers.

Asus G751 Support / Download areas - Asus hasn't updated all the versions of these support areas, this link discusses the 3 locations were started independantly and not sync'd/updated through to the latest driver releases - check them all to be sure.

Please let us know if updating Windows 8.1 through Microsoft and the hardware drivers fixes the problem. If it doesn't at least the laptop will be in the way needed for Asus to debug the problem - it will be exhibiting it.
