View Full Version : G70AB at higher maximum overclock?

Hi All,

Is it possible to increase the maximum overclock on the G70AB to more than 4.1Ghz?

I'm sure the i7 4770k can comfortably get up to 4.5Ghz no problem.

no the bios is locked to 4.1 but if u post in the forum and ask what mother board is in the G70AB u maybe able to use a different bios , I was wondering if u tried to install AI III its a pretty neat piece of software , everything in one place

Just an update for those who care.

The G70AB motherboard is labeled as Z87M/G70AB/DP_MB

Hopefully I'll find a bios around that'll let me get her running a bit faster

did u happen to see if MB is made in china {asia} {France}

10-15-2014, 10:54 AM
I'll check.

Sorry for my ignorance but why is that important?

10-15-2014, 10:57 AM
It has Made in China on the sticker on the top PCI-E slots

OK thanks important because we both are looking to over clock our machines, by the way do u have Bluetooth on your G70AB, in W7 there is a Bluetooth driver for the G70AB but non listed in W8 driver page so we both are missing Bluetooth I think , my last bios was made by a French company

I had a quick look for it last night and couldn't see Bluetooth anywhere.

Nice , hope u are very happy . great idea , I have the same case , G30AB , I'm still looking what MB to use , u kept the same psu ?

11-28-2015, 02:49 AM
Yep, retained the PSU. I'm only running the Titan X, Xonar, and the stock drives so I don't think it's really taxing it right now.
