View Full Version : Windows 8.1 audio issues

I recently installed a new SSD into my G75 and did a completely clean install of windows 8.1 on there.
And so I had to reinstall all the drivers again. I installed the "VIA HD audio driver" that I got from here: http://forum.maxgeeks.net/showthread.php?t=153
And yet I cannot find any settings for the built-in subwoofer. Before I had the setting for the sub in the control panel-->sound-->playback-->speakers-->levels (or something, I'm using windows in swedish, so the names for stuff might be a bit off). Also if I remember correctly there was some via hd audio deck. Which I don't have now either.

So what I'm asking for is some way to turn up the built-in sub. If I'm missing some driver or something, thanks alot for any help :)

http://www.service.asus.com/#!downloads/c1wax type in your model # read what it says about installing w8.1 in the audio driver files . if u install a new driver or reinstall an audio driver , uninstall the old driver from device manager first . audio driver will be in "sound video game controllers "in device manager .
to install a new or reinstall an audio driver uninstall the audio driver from device manager first

Ehm, that just redirects me to the Asus G75VW page, where I can't find any audio-files for windows 8.1. But if I look at windows 8 (or 7 for that matter) there's only that one VIA audio driver. Which is the one that I installed already, from that forum page that I linked in my original post. So I think there's some other stuff missing for me...

I understand its the same driver , but sometimes installing the audio driver with out uninstalling the driver from device manager causes compatibility issues, I looked at the install page at maxgeeks there does not seem to be any thing missing

Hmm alrighty, well the thing is that beforehand I didn't have ANY drivers. So I don't see why uninstalling the drivers I have now and trying again would solve the problem. Just to clarify. I've never had any problems with my sound. It's just that I want that "subwoofer" option on the sound-options, so that I can turn on the subwoofer.
