View Full Version : How to add 2 more sticks of ram to a Asus G53 notebook?

I bought a G53S which comes with 6GB of ram, It's my understanding that there's 2 more slots open? how do i access this extra 2 slots?

seems like i have a problem.. my ram is G skill (not the same brand of what's inside of the laptop already) should i even install this ram? will it work?

You can mix & match memory as long as they can both run at the same speed, timings, and voltages. There is a chance you could have problems with mix & match but it's tough to say at this point.

Youll probably want the mixed rams in paired slots. ie: you want gskill in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, but putting it in slots 1 and 2 or 3-4 might cause problems.
