Hello guys, like a year ago i saw pictures in some thread, where one guy modded G750** heatsink with additional cooper pads for better cooling.
Now i cant find that topic anywhere=( Maybe someone knows a link?)
Thanks

i think you saw the pic of this? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0Y6JcEK4tu8/UiPqXPcWafI/AAAAAAAAAZI/R42PNFYYdvI/s640/P1020155.JPG

however, copper only stores heat but without a proper way to get it out of ur laptop it might be not a lot of help just sticking those to the heatpipes, but im not an expert on that. perhaps its the best idea ever haha

The best cooling mod for this laptop is to repaste GPU and CPU with arctic cooling mx4 paste. My G750JW with GTX765 Runs 65C on cpu and 66C on gpu when gaming with owerclocking by NVidia inspector to +135 core and +450 memory. And I think there is absolutely no need to mod heatsink or cooling system! This copper pads will only store heat inside a laptop so I don't think it will help a lot! Try to repaste it and then you will notice the difference!

Those are copper RAM heat sinks. We offer them as an option upgrade on all of our systems too. @OP: is this what you were thinking of? Or are you thinking of thermal pads applied between the plate and the vRAM chips?

hello pro star hope you dont mind me barging in on this thread but i wnt to know as well about pads or replacement tim for pads to use on the gfx card. You have any tips about wich to get for that? or wou;ld something like k5 PRO be great for that, wich is shown on the pic below:

I don't personally have any recommendations on the TIM used for the pads, just make sure it is non-conductive. ;)

Often times 0.5mm pads come recommended highly if they're not already applied.

yeah thats why i thought that k5 pro might be the best of two worlds as it has quite decent cooling performance but also fills any gaps like a thermal pad

How did you repaste your GPU? Did you use MX4 on all 38 chips or just the die? What did you use for the VRM's and all other components around the die? Or are you using the information I posted myself when I did the experiment myself?

I used paste on all the chips when apparently I'm supposed to use pads.. don't spread this information around yet as I've yet to pull it apart again to check how the paste on my VRM's is going.

I used mx4 only on gpu and cpu chip all the res was pasted with a thermal pads! I'm afraid that paste can provide electricity and used thermal pads! MX4 is a best paste for laptops I ever used! It's runs grate for long time. I also used coollaborotary metal pads but in my Lenovo y510 with sli Gt750 I dropped 12 degrease Celsius! That laptop was overheating up to 97C after applying metal pads goes max 88C but I don't think this pads are needed for g750 its cooling system is good enough!
