Hey guys, I have problem with my notebook. For some reason I cannot install new 11.9 Catalyst drivers from AMD on my laptop. From what people say, I only should use VGA drivers, but they are 2 years old back from 2009... Every time I try to install new AMD drivers, it is either crashes or just would not install... does anyone have solution for that?

Which driver version is installed on your computer right now?

current driver is 8.683.0.0
Is it true that Catalyst drivers cannot be installed on Radeon Mobility video cards?

Ok, I had Catalyst on my previous laptop with graphic card ATI 4570. So I would say that the Catalyst drivers would work on a notebook with Radeon Mobility video cards.

Perhaps you could try to find som earlier drivers before 11.9. I think that sometimes it is a too new version for the driver, so you have to find an earlier version before you can install the 11.9

Wolph88, When I had a problem upgrading Video Drivers I used this :

See How to Setup (thanks to steviejones133)
The procedure is written with 11.2 in mind but it should work for the latest video drivers also.

I think Josea also has a good reference that includes using Drive Sweeper and CCleaner to help remove any leftover driver uninstall remnants to allow a clean install.
