i have a odd question to ask for all the new owners out there first off i prefer to play games with just the keyboard and mouse no external or anything like that
can someone confirm that if you play a game a fps lets say dead space can you use the right and left buttons at the same time? like to aim and shoot ?
I'm asking because I've had the chance to use one of the older models and the thing was the touch pad driver would not let you click both buttons simultaneously is this still an issue?

thanks

I own a G751JY and the issue you describe is still a problem. I just checked and can't use the two buttons at the same time while gaming.
Can other owners confirm that the touchpad buttons are a bit loose? especially the left button.

ahh a post that ive been having issues with but i can help you guys out. unfortunalty with this workaround you will lose a little bit of functionality and ill explain.
i also enjoy playing with just the keyboard and touchpad and i had the same problem as you when i first got this computer. what i did to make both the buttons work again is i removed the elantech drivers and i installed the latest synaptics driver. you will regain the ability to use both of the buttons at the same time.
unfortunatly and i havent figured out a fix yet you will lose your gesture functionality like 2 finger scroll and pinch zoom.
i hope this helps you out :)

Guys, this has been an issue in the past for various Asus Smart Gesture annoyances, the solution has been to uninstall Asus Smart Gesture and install the latest Elantech driver you can find (not Synaptics), unfortunately Elantech doesn't host that driver directly, you have to find another OEM and download from their laptop support.

Asus actually has a download area for Elantech drivers, but their drivers aren't as new as you can find from another laptop OEM.

Here is the Asus site, upload dates are recent, 11/10/14 - Version V11.5.12.5
http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Touchpad&os=30

Acer has a newer release - 11.6.27.201 12/05/14
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers - download area

This may not be the newest, even though it has a 12/05/14 upload date, there is an Acer Forum discussion started 11.27.13 - but the reason I am posting this, is there is a solution to an issue with that driver, last post from 5.14.2014

If you find a newer driver version from Elantech, please post it :)

Boom_austin, given that it is an Elantech device, I would complain to Elantech and Asus about their software implementation not allowing using both buttons, and the Synaptics driver that allows it on the Elantech device shows it is possible.

This seems like a basic need that should be allowed, I can't believe it is still a thing, but it has been a problem for years without resolution:

Googling this issue (binging too) produces lots of complaints, but no solutions, except uninstall the Elantech / Asus Gesture drivers - did you try that instead of installing the Synaptics driver?

Elantech is **** for fps gaming really I recently got in contact with elantech and they are aware of it that can't right and left click at the same time they have no plans to change this there solution is either to go remove the crap drivers or get a mouse what a pain they are how hard can it be to really have a fps mode on touchpad or turn it off I know synaptics has modified drivers same wth Realtek I have been looking for some way to turn it on it looks like there is a way to disable it for you can actually use the thing with fps games and it's all in the registry just have to find the right values in the application then we should be able to solve this once and for all
