View Full Version : G750JZ OS X Yosemite install thread

Since the original thread on Mavericks/Yosemite installation it's really a mess, I've come up with the idea of start a new thread.
Basically, I'm going with Yosemite fresh install, then post-installation finalizations and post results here, trying to make a "step-by-step" guide for those who, like me, would love to have Yosemite on their G750JZ.

>inb4 if you have another model, go check the original thread and try to find something for your G750 model on the 73-mess pages of the thread

Thanks! ;)

1st update:
I have successfully installed Yosemite through Unibeast.
Really useful stuff:

I've patched the kernel to avoid early reboots, with this patch:

perl -pi -e 's|\xe2\x00\x00\x00\x02\x00\x00\x00|\x00\x00\x00\x 00\x02\x00\x00\x00|g' kernel
perl -pi -e 's|\xe2\x00\x00\x00\x4c\x00\x00\x00|\x00\x00\x00\x 00\x4c\x00\x00\x00|g' kernel
perl -pi -e 's|\xe2\x00\x00\x00\x90\x01\x00\x00|\x00\x00\x00\x 00\x90\x01\x00\x00|g' kernel

Bootflags used:

-v dart=0 darkwake=8 DropSSDT=Yes USBBusFix=Yes npci=0x3000 nv_disable=1

>I've even added "kext-dev-mode=1" but don't know if it is really useful

Problems now are:
- Let the system use the whole HD 4600 VRAM (I've linked up there something useful, I'll try)
- Recognize wi-fi, Thunderbolt, audio, etc...

Now I'm gonna do some post-installation tweaks with MultiBeast and, eventually, Clover EFI.
Thanks ;)
