Are we unable to install ANY drivers newer than the 333.37 Nvidia Driver on this model of Laptop? If so, there could be issues. I already have games that are not working properly .

Hmm, looks like I might be returning this laptop then. I'm not going to sit here and hope it gets fixed.

I have tried thoroughly to get updated drivers from NVidia installed. Unfortunately none of them will complete (although I have been able to get past the "The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" issue. It looks like the missing thing is nvam.cat (or I guess nvami.cat) in order to certify the nvami.inf file in the newer drivers.

It's a real shame. I am very likely to return this laptop as well.

Not sure if this will help, or make things worse, but if anyone wants to try somewhat secret 'unapproved' (I like to think of them as possible release candidates although it doesn't appear many of them ever make it to official release) vga drivers from the ASUS download site, check the link further below.

It's just a whole mess of drivers though and doesn't tell you which models they are for, but it does tell you which graphics chip they are for at least.

By the way I noticed the ASUS G771JM download site has both nVidia and Intel vga drivers posted, so wondering if it might also help to update the Intel vga drivers for any issues that could be related to it, but I guess those who try it may let us know.

If you aren't having any problems though, it's safer to stick to the approved drivers posted on the ASUS download site for your model.
