Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and the ROG family. Just ordered a ROG G751JT-DH2-CA (in Canada). I was trying to find a version including GTX 970M with an SSD as the primary drive but found no good deal here so I decided to replace one of the HDDs with a Samsung Pro 850 myself. I've never done this before and was wondering how should I do it to avoid voiding my warranty and losing any data. Tried to find a clear guide but the user guide only explained how to open the laptop.

Thanks!

1.You won't void your warranty because hdd is in user accessable area.
2. If it comes only with hdd then you can add ssd to 2nd bay. If it comes with hdd+ssd and you want to replace hdd with ssd, then its not worth. The bay with hdd has SATA 2 connection so you get lower ssd speeds than with SATA 3.

Oh so if it comes with 2 HDDs, it means none of the connections will be SATA3? Kind of disappointed already.

The first bay (where there is the system drive) is SATA 3. Just put your ssd in this bay.

The G751JT-DH72 in the United States comes with a 256GB SSD eSATA (not the M.2 form factor) and a 1TB spinning HDD, I would think the DH72 in Canada would include a 256GB SSD.

You typed DH2 but I can't find any info on that.

Yeah, typo - G751JT-DH72 is the one, CA, I guess stands for the version sold in Canada, which comes with 1tb + 1tb HDD instead of the ssd + 1tb,
Got it for 1680 CAD so decided to spend the extra money on an SSD. Buying the US version was not viable because of declining value of our dollar.

I just hope that the hard drive is the only difference and the connection will be the same as the US version.
I'll let you know when installed if there were any hiccups.
