I'm considering upgrading the Samsung XP941 PCIe M.2 256GB SSD to an OEM Samsung XP941 PCIe M.2 512GB SSD by also purchasing the Bplus U3M2M PCIe M.2 SSD to USB 3.0 Adapter/Enclosure and cloning entire contents of my ASUS ROG G751JY-DH71 Samsung XP941 M.2 PCIe 256GB ( C: OS, D:Data partition ) to the OEM Samsung XP941 M.2 PCIe 512GB SSD then swapping them.
Has anyone else with the ASUS ROG G751JY-DH71 notebook upgraded their Samsung XP941 M.2 PCIe 256GB SSD to the larger
512GB version yet? I already upgraded the memory from 24GB to 32GB adding additional exact model 8GB SODIMM to my notebooks factory installed 24GB SK hynix DDR3L-1600 PC3L-12800 1.35v memory. I also upgraded the factory installed 1 TB 7200 RPM SATA 3 HDD to 1 TB Samsung 850 Pro SATA 3 SSD. I attached a 6 " SATA 3 extension cable connected to SATA 3 port 1 and fished under SATA Controller separator to SATA 2 port 2, the only way to achieve SATA 3 6GB/s speeds with an SSD installed. I'd like to try upgrading to the newer, faster Samsung 512 GB SM915 that can read at up to 1600 MB/s and write up to 1350MB/s on an M.2 PCIe 2.0 controller but I'm not sure G751JY-DH71 BIOS could recognize it.
