Hello friends!

Past weekend I dropped some soda on my new G750 keyboard. Some keys stopped working, so I opened it and cleaned with isopropyl alcohol but nothing happened.

There are a few keys only, like: T, O, Windows, TAB, ?, /, Right Shift and numeric keyboard 2.

I'm searching a keyboard replacement, but I can't find it separated. Only the entire palm rest + touch pad + keyboard + flat cables pieces.

Can anyone guide me where to buy it and what should I buy?

It's a refurbished equipment, there's no more warranty.

Thanks all!

Farinasaur, sorry to hear this, after this happened to me many times, I decided to use a seperate keyboard/mouse/trackpad, and not get near my laptop keyboard with liquid's - I use sealed drinking cups now as well :)

The white sheet that comes between the keyboard/screen is water resistant, so I leave it on top of the keyboard all the time. I accidentally tipped a bottle over it, and the drops of liquid beaded up - it gave me the time to react and lift the sheet and the beads of liquid away from the keyboard. If your refurbished unit didn't come with a protective sheet you can use another sheet of plastic to lay on top for protection from liquid spills. The G750 keyboard is a sealed unit so you don't need to worry about blocking air flow with the sheet of plastic.

The G750's all use the same replacement keyboard unit, the entire top is a sealed assembly that includes the top plate, keyboard, trackpad, etc - all as 1 unit. Available from Asus for $99:

Replacement Keyboard Module (G750JW, U.S.) - currently out of stock :(
SKU: 90NB00M1-R31US0
http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=6461

Google search has hits for other sources...
https://www.google.com/search?q=90NB00M1-R31US0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Even though you have a refurbished unit, you can try to get Asus to service the repair - request a keyboard replacement and see what they say:

https://vip.asus.com <== create login, register laptop, file Technical Inquiry requesting RMA to fix the keyboard.

Please come back and let us know how it works out :)

Hey!

VIP thing won't work since the seller I bought here in Brazil isn't a licensed one.

I found this item by SKU here, do you think it will work?

Farinasaur, even if the seller isn't a licensed Asus dealer, you should still be able to get International support for your laptop, it comes with every laptop... try signing up. :)

You don't need to purchase from a 3rd party seller, use the link I gave to the Asus estore, or go to the top level Asus estore International site, and pick your country:

https://estore.asus.com

And, search for G750 - a number of parts will come up for the G750, find the keyboard and click on it's link, and order from there.

I guess you could by from someone else, but it will only be an added delay and an added cost - they are ordering from the same place as I linked above. :)

"Availability: This original Asus spare part will be ordered from Asus directly. Estimated delivery time: 2 - 8 weeks."

The Asus eStore acts like it is being served from someones toy computer - it takes forever to answer, and sometimes times out. Keep trying.

Update: It seems the usual link isn't answering, maybe the international server is down - it is a holiday over there right now. Here is another jumping off point, it correctly took me to the US store, try it and see if it takes you to the right locale for your region:
