It sounds like you have done a bad flash to your BIOS aka bricked it. So I would say that you have to RMA the situation :(

Bad BIOS flashes are covered under warranty. Don't let them tell you otherwise. If you get pushback at the repair center, PM Brian@ASUS or Mason@ASUS.

Is the warranty in Finland the same? I would think so, but you never know.

For future reference, there's a simple outline of the procedure for a safer BIOS flash at the end of my New Drivers sticky.

When you had your Asus, did you ever update the Atheros WiFi driver to v9.2.1.432 or above? That driver could cause a speeding bullet to lag. Even offline . . . :\

Obviously the folks on this Forum have made their choice, and went with a G74SX. I'd suggest you buy from a retailer that has a good return policy. If there's any way you can swing it (perhaps using a credit card), buy both machines and try them side-by-side for a week or so. You'll quickly get a feel for which one you prefer. The simply return the "loser." ;) (I know of a guy who does this routinely....he recently bought four laptops for comparison...!)

:) good advice BrodyBoy , i think i`ll try with MSI next: MSI GT780DXR-429NE

Intel® Core™ i7 (2670QM)i, 2 Ghz (Turbo 2,9 Ghz)
8 Gt:n DDR3, max 16 Gt
1,5 Tb 7 200 k./min (750 Gt + 750 Gt RAID 0)
17,3” Full HD LCD-näyttö (1920 x 1080)
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 570M 1.5 Gt GDDR5
Blu-Ray

g74sx has too many little issues so i hope msi is little better.

I just bought my G74SX last week, and updated my video driver and bios only... followed one of the stickied thread by black-someone (sorry cant remember who) on how to disable useless stuff to make your laptop better.... I did add an additional RAM stick to 16, and changed my boot drive to a SSD one.

Played BF3 last night for the first time on it... have to say it was flawless... I was surprised how much better it looked compare to the console version and it worked smooth with no lag... I played on my WiFi connection instead of wired, and had no issues with lag when playing multiplayer...

Can the ASUS handle BF3 and MW2? yes it can :)

waiting for my Skyrim to arrive this week

Hey, if you really need to do the update, it can be done successfully. So don't feel like you have to avoid it all costs!

it's pretty easy for me when I did the update using the USB stick and use the BIOS screen to flash it instead of the winflash which everyone is recommending against it...
