View Full Version : Rounded off screws when trying to install an ssd, and advice to remove them?

Hey guys,
I'm new here.... But I have a question when trying to install a 120gb ssd I have seemed to rounded off the screws, any advice on getting them out bc i just bought the laptop 8 hours ago

You need to use a screw extractor and be carefull no to got too far! It will take the head of the screw but the shaft will be inside the ssd. The other 3 holes will secure it enough.

Reppie_30, Asus seems to have started using Blue Loctite to secure the screws, which require a solvent or heat applied directly to the screw to soften the Blue Loctite before removing the screw - or you will strip the head and not extract the screw.

I was able to get them out... with out breaking anything thank goodness
