hey guys,

I am new to the ROG :D but a long awesome fan of Asus since 2009.... :D
So i decided to get a new Laptop from my legendary old Asus k61 (lol :D )...it had been a good laptop and served me for 4 years with running all games with a GT 220m :D (however bf4 was at 24fps :D )... so i am looking forward to get an ASUS g751JL as soon as it starts to ship.. which was announced just now..

Is the G751JL powerful enough to play all the latest games for at least the next 4-5 years ?
and what are ur thoughts on GTX 965m 2GB ddr5 ...

Also i see that there is an empty caddy for SSD's in the rog G75x series laptops which does not come with default SSDs. is it true ?

Thanks !

You should aim for 970M or 980M as 965M won't do you great justice in games.

It says on it's site Dual HDD Support(Optional) so yes you can have 2 Hard Drives (Don't be lazy next time and check it for yourself).

With 970M you can overclock it as it has great OC ability and gain additional 10-15 frames and with that you should last 4 years easily. (It depends from the game optimization, your needs, etc, but generally you should be fine).

970M will play current games on high-ish settings (depends on the game) and should be able to handle games years from now on at least medium settings. I think navis summed up everything else in his post quite well. Enjoy the laptop if you go for it!

My JT can play watch dogs with the worse mod on max settings and get 35-40fps, It was 80fps before, but worth it graphically and I'm used to 30FPS so it looks fine to me.

I do wish I could have gotten the 980m as it uses up most of the GPU but that wasn't an option :/
