It seems I have a problem with the power adapter for my G73. Whenever I plug the cord into the laptop, I hear a crackling sound coming from where it was plugged into the laptop. This crackling gets worse whenever the adapter cord is rotated in the laptop. Whenever I move the laptop on the desk it crackles as well, and I lose power in and out. Should I get a new power adapter?

It sounds as though there is a crack in the notebook's receptacle, which causes intermittent connections.

It's called a dc jack and you can replace it or have a local computer repair shop replace it for you.

If you have the skills to do so you can follow my tutorial on how to replace the dc jack.

Here's the link for you.
