I own an Asus ROG G750JH with the following specs:
Intel Core i7-4700HQ 2.40 GHz
Nividia Geforce GTX 780m 4GB
Ram 16 GB

What I wanted to know was that are some of you are knowledgeable about upgrading the graphics card on this laptop. I think of a GTX 980m. Is it possible? Is there a place to recommend? I have read that some people was have succeeded http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?54457-ROG-G20-...

Are there any Upgrade kits out there like: 8GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M Upgrade Kit for Alienware 17 (R5) (for example)

I would like to run Witcher 3 (High - Ultra (maybe not Ultra?)) When it comes out.

If it is not possible could overclock of GPU (and maybe the CPU) help?

PS: I cant buy a new laptop or a desktop.

English is not my native language. So sorry for any misspellings and grammatical errors

davozk, the G20 ROG isn't a laptop, it is a "desktop", and also not very easy to upgrade... the G750JH can't be upgraded - the CPU is soldered in and the MXM card used in the G750JH doesn't have a planned/approved upgrade path.

There is a G750JY, which has a 980m MXM card, but afaik, noone has tried to get a spare and try it in the G750JH/JZ (both the same form factor as the JY).

The G751JY 980m is soldered on the main motherboard, along with the CPU, so it isn't upgradeable either.

I have a G750JH, and have OC'd it, here are my settings. I used Intel XTU to increase the core/cache ratios to 36x,35x,34x,34x / 36x. And, I used Asus GPU Tweak for Graphic cards - +135 GPU clock and 6300mhz for memory. Both OC's together help enough to make it worth doing :)

When you load up and configure Witcher 3, and get an optimal tuning of settings, please come back and post them here :)

Thanks will look into it.
But I heavily consider selling this laptop and buy a ASUS ROG G751JY T7004H

davozk, you might want to hold on to the G750JH, and try out the G751JY, then decide which to keep - both? :)

The G750JH is still 98% of a G751JY in it's ability to run games, but the value in the market isn't that - you won't get enough for the G750JH to make it worthwhile selling.

A 15-30% improvement in FPS isn't that much, even the toughest games won't be outside the run-ability of the G750JH for quite a while.

The difference between a desktop and a laptop is much greater than the difference between the G750JH and the G751JY.

At $3000 for the JH originally, getting $1000 for it is an insult. And the G751JY will be another $3000 for same top model.

Is it worth $2000+ for a few more FPS? No, it isn't :)

I really want to run witcher 3 at high-ultra (Ultra?). So can I after OC?
I can buy it to my PS4, but I wont. Because no, mods and ****ty graphics.

davozk, get it, OC it, tune it, and find out - then please come back and let us know the optimal configuration :)
