I would really, like REALLY appreciate if someone who owns a G751-JY and experienced sound quality issues could spare a minute to help me out. My girlfriends unit arrived yesterday and, even after installing the supposedly good drivers (32) and adjusting sound levels using the UI that came with those the subwoofer still struggles way too much for her (and mine) comfort.

I wouldn't be so unwilling to believe that what I am hearing is the "fixed" sound if it wasn't for the fact that same songs played on my old Dell Inspiron 17R SE and on an even older ROG G73JH (5 years!) sound perfectly fine. Below you will find links to a track I've used for testing purposes and video footage (really short) of the DELL and G751-JY playing it.

Please tell me, how this song sounds on a G751-JY machine with its sound issues supposedly fixed by the new drivers and balancing? Is the sound clear? I am getting desperate because I just realized that even if the subwoofer in my girlfriend's laptop is slightly blown I wouldn't know because I have got absolutely NO IDEA what kind of performance to expect.

DELL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_v-i5WyrwA&feature=youtu.be

Please advise!

Regards,
n

Your G751-JY sounds the same as mine. What you are hearing is the "fixed" sound, it was worse before :D

The "issue" n0way is having is unrelated to the start/stop crackling sound issue.

You are correct, I actually meant to reply another thread you have now replied in that one pointing to the correct discussion... oops!

Oh well, I guess they had to cut the costs somewhere. If only MSI counterparts weren't more expensive with worse specs..

Check out my reply to a parallel conversation you are having in the sound fix thread: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?57462-G751-Imbalanced-Sound-Problem-(internal-speakers-only)-FIX-IS-OUT!&p=487880&viewfull=1#post487880

As well the one directly below that, they may be relevant to your issue.
