Check out this thread? https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?60369-G75VW-is-the-intel-i7-2-3gHZ-enough-to-run-GTA-V
FWIW I can run WatchDogs (yes, it's not GTA V) but also Borderlands, etc. Cheers :)

Yes, GTA V runs smooth with my G74SX (2670QM+560M 3GB+16GB RAM) with med-high settings in 1920x1080. This time Rockstar made a very good porting (not like GTA IV, terrible porting) and it's incredible that I can play with GTA V better than GTA IV!

As you can see I get 30fps constantly and quality is good enough, it loses only 2 or 3 fps when the game puts my ROG under stress.

Here my graphic settings:

GTX 560M (3GB) memory usage: 2200MB/3071MB

Fullscreen: On
Resolution: 1920x1080 (60hz)
Aspec Ratio: Auto
FXAA: On
MSAA: Off
Vsync: Half (30fps cap)
Population Density: Max
Population Variety: Max
Distance Scaling: Max
Texture Quality: High
Shader Quality: High
Shadow Quality: Normal
Reflection Quality: High
Reflection MSAA: x2
Grass Quality: Normal
Particles Quality: High
Soft Shadows: Softer
Post FX: High
Motion Blur Strenght: Max
Anisotropic Filtering: x2
Ambient Occlusion: Normal
Tessellation: Normal

I suggest to run GTA V on SSD drive, seems it prevents from annoying stuttering issue.

I made different tests with different resolutions, always with vsync OFF and all option OFF or normal (Population variety, density and distance scaling are setted to MAX)

1920x1080: 30/45 FPS
1680x1050: 35/50 FPS
1400x1050: 40/55 FPS
1280x1024: 50/65 FPS
800x600: 70/100 FPS

You have to disable or enable vsync, when you set it to "half", the game limits FPS to 30 but it's more stable.

Should sticky this, I found these about the perfect base line settings as well.

Also if you grab the latest GeForce drivers for GTA 5 remember Nvidia designs specific drivers optimized for our notebooks.
Make sure you update from Nvidia drivers page and manually locate in the drop down.. "GeForce 500M series (Notebook)"
Then below that of course choose "GeForce GTX 560m"

Just to add after much tinkering I found these settings really improved quality and performance and i was able to up my Shadow Quality to High and Anisotropic Filtering: x16.

Open your Nvidia controll panel and make these changes under" Manage 3d Settings"
48674
48675

Then using the in game GTA settings above you can change Vsync: = Half.
Up your Shadow Quality to High.
