View Full Version : G53SW - freeze...

Hi there!
Every time I start my laptop it freezes up sooner or later - but never more than one time.
It can happen immediately when Windows has booted up or after 5-10 min. The PC doesn’t have to be under heavy load or so instead it can happen whenever…
Sometimes 10-30 sec or so pass and then it starts running fine again but sometimes I have to shut down by holding down the power button. When it does recover from the freeze by itself it never happens again during that “session” with the laptop on…
During the freeze the HDD LED is constantly lit up with no flicker – just a constant light.
Below are the error-logs.
I keep getting several more of these but always the same errors.
The iaStor error happens less often than the error for The Peer Name Resolution Protocol service.
It seems as though it always recovers from the iaStor error by itself and only sometimes from the other error. I had another HDD before with the same problem and recently switched to the Samsung one so that is not the problem… I’ve read of some people where the Protocol error is solved by deleting the file idstore.sst because it’s corrupt & then let windows restoring it. This isn’t working for me… I have all the latest drivers and just made a complete reinstallation of Windows7.

Have someone any idea of what is going on here?
Some help or ideas would be highly appreciated!!

Best, Niklas

Have you tried to start up in safe mode?

If the freezes still occur in safe mode it could be corrupt system files or maybe hardware related somehow. If not, it is most likely driver or software related.
You could try to update/downgrade your drivers, as "The Peer Name Resolution Protocol" has something to do with network I'll first go with the LAN and WiFi drivers.

I had a similar freezing issue on my laptop once, which later turned out to be a conflict with Avast and Chrome. You could also try to switch antivirus, just to be sure.

Hope this helps :)
