Hello all, how some models of Asus g20 have GTX 970/980 since he have a power alimentation of 230w + 180w and the minimum for a GTX 970 is 500w at least?

Thanks all.

230W + 180w = 410W. The 970 GTX only uses maximum of 170W.

410W - 170W = 240W left for Overclocking etc.

NVIDIA only says a minimum of 500w for a whole Desktop counterparts. It does not mean you NEED 500w, you only need 170w.

I believe 4, but keep in mind they are laptop memory slots, not traditional desktop slots.

It's actually 2 slots. So you will need the 8gb ram per stick (2x 8 for max of 16GB) however, you can also go above 1600mhz for ram speed. Remember it has to be the 1.35v models

And yea, it uses laptop memory, there is no difference between the desktop counterpart, it saves more space since its smaller.
