View Full Version : Asus G20AJ high cpu ang gpu temp when idle

Recently I bought a new Asus ROG G20AJ, i7-4790, Nvidia GTX 970, 8Gb ram, 1Tb hdd, i'm using Samsung's 1920x1080 display (nothing special)
and I am noticing that the computers cpu and gpu temperatures are quite high when no program is running (only desktop is shown) and are around 55 (cpu) -60 (gpu) degrees.
I'm not using or having anything special on my computer, except World of tanks and Assassin's Cred Unity, there is nothing additionally installed as it was
on the first day.

It is a bit strange that gpu's fan is on the same rpm level if no program is running or if a game is running. Yesterday I installed MSI's Afterburner where
I put gpu's fan to "auto" mode, and rapidly it went to higher rpm which cooled down the gpu to 50 degrees.

Is this normal functionality of this gpu and cpu in this "tightly" packed PC? It is a bit strange that you need a 3rd party program to make gpu's fan work...

Any thoughts?
