Lojack is listed on the specs under Security. Is it there, or was that part of a form copied over from another laptop?

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=WzU7IKA6SWdBvaRd it does show it as on there but I also believe it to be a pay for service. I have worked on a couple with lojack on them the older ones were on the harddrive the new ones are in the bios. One day it will be a gps beacon and big brother will be able to find it from space with just a ping.

Does that mean it's on the thing, or not? Tha'ts what I was asking. I can't tell, and there wasn't any documentation one way or the other. Nothing to tell you how to put it on if it was an optional pay service or take it off. It wasn't mentioned at all.

James75,
LoJack for Laptops is a pay for service offered through Absolute - http://www.absolute.com/en/lojackforlaptops/home.aspx
ASUS isn't required to offer the service however, they do state; as seen in a previous post, that the G73 supports the LoJack feature - Which is primarily a BIOS level support feature. It can NOT be turned on or off in the BIOS - The LoJack software/service is what maintains the BIOS hooks and as such provides a deeper level of security - keeping the theives from being able to hack the software/bios to by-pass the security - If you're in need of the service then check out http://www.absolute.com/en/lojackforlaptops/home.aspx - If you are not convinced by the ASUS website specification stating that LoJack is supported then ask the people at http://www.absolute.com/en/lojackforlaptops/home.aspx - They can tell you for sure if it is supported - It is their product not an ASUS product and it is their insurance underwritters that hold the responsibility of properly securing your device -

In Christ,
