Looking to get one to take the stress out of the connector on the motherboard, anyone know of one that works. Will the one for G73 that has been posted on the forum work ?

Thanks

I got this adapter based upon someone else' suggestion. I measured my power adapter and it seems like this will be the right one. This seller also sells on Amazon but this auction is slightly cheaper. It is supposed to be here in the mail later this week.

Yeah, that's the one that fits. Here's (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004L74PGI) the Amazon listing.

Because it sticks out a little bit and doesn't really "hug" the machine that way an integrated 90 degree connector does, I'm not convinced it's that much of an improvement in terms of not stressing the M/B connector. If anything, it might even add some leverage to when it does get bumped or pulled. But it does resolve the problem of that stiff power connector/cable sticking out to the right several inches.

Thanks guys.......... its more or less reducing the angle the plug is at normally......... only have 1 year warranty so i don't want it to break like a month after warranty lol................

Has the G74 female connector on the motherboard been changed/redesigned from the G73 (been seeing tons of people with the G73 having these problems and ASUS blaming the user)....... have had a couple of laptops and never had this issue
