Ok I have been reading threads for days then bought a hard drive and just added it but don't see it so need help. Here are a couple questions if you don't mind.

G751JT CH71 since I have the open bay was adding another hard drive for storage. I bought a Travelstar 1Tb 7200 RPM SATA/600
1. Will the second HDD bay support SATA III?
2. After installing the HDD do I need to do anything in bios or somewhere else for computer to recognize?

1) Only SATAII should only make a marginal impact on performance for a spinning disk 2) You will need to format it in Disk Management. Just search for that and you will get a link.

No it will work the drive / controller just negotiate the highest speed available to both. In your case the drive will just operate at SATA II speeds.

ok I am trying to figure out how to format it now. Brought up Disk management, think I found the right drive, looks like Disk 0 is main and disk 1 is the new one. But can't find format anywhere. I used to build computers but it was back in the XP era LOL

Is it the New Simple Drive option?

Creating a simple volume first will work.
