Hey gang,

I have a G75 with a pair of 700 Gb hard drives installed as RAID 1.

I'd like to move that to a 256 Gb SSD boot drive and keep one of the 700 Gb drives as a data drive.

Is there a guide to cloning the OS and all the programs I have installed to the SSD so that I don't have to do a fresh OS install?

Hi RecceDG,

What version of Windows do have installed? (then we can go from there)
You can use the Asus recovery software to install everything from the "recovery partition".
I did this on my old G75VW, and all went well, plus you will still have the f9 recovery option available if you need it.
IMO this would be the best option for you my friend.

Windows 7.

I've got a bunch of software installed that I'd rather not have to re-install if at all possible. I can probably un-install Steam to make room enough to squeeze down onto 256 Gb.

It would be best if you moved some data files to the HDD you will keep.
As for myself, I have all my games installs on a partition all it's own on my HDD. (saves a lot of space)

For best results use this Asus AI Recovery Disk creator Version 1.0.28 download (http://nbtsd.asustreiber.de/Tools/AiRecovery_V1.0.28.zip)to burn your recovery disk set. (You will need 4 disks in all)

Here's a youtube how to video Asus G75VW SSD/HDD Installation Tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMlsfk10PUA)

Good luck, and good gaming my friend!
