View Full Version : How to install new Windows 8.1 on my new SSD?

09-03-2015, 12:08 AM

I`m planning to change my 3TB hard disk to a new SSD 512 Samsun 850 Pro.

When I lose my windows I want to install a fresh Windows 8.1 Single Language on it.

If you can direct me to a link of an ISO file of Win 8.1 Single Language preferably from Microsoft Link.

Will this work all fine? I have motherboard CD and can install all softs I guess.

I also want to do a single partition on my new SSD disk.

Will I be fine with this decision?

Hello a100

yeah it will be fine, if your hardware supports UEFI do a UEFI install. When you install windows it should create a partition automatically, disconnect your 3TB hdd before installing.

I would recommend to only install the LAN driver from the motherboard cd then go to the asus support page and download the latest drivers.

If you need help installing your new ssd and windows just say so.

Do you have the windows 8.1 installation disc and an optical drive ?

Hey Nate tnx for the answer.

My hardware is a newly purchased ROG G20 AJ.

No I`m searching for this WIN8.1 Single Language ISO on microsoft.

If you know any Link to an iso file of the same original windows I have on my PC, would appreciate it.

Tnx man, I found out that my originally installed windows is win8.1 Core Single Language 64 Bit.

I`m downloading Windows 8.1 OEM Core Single Language 64 Bit ISO file from here (http://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/windows-8-1-oem-core-single-language-64-bit-download/)

After this I simple put the iso file on a USB flash drive, Connect it to the back of the PC and it will run correct?

finally done it, man you wont believe it ... I had to go through the case like a whirlwind to get it done.

I also had to simply disconnect the SATA hard because there was no way getting it out.

Now only my 512 SSD is connected, when I turned the PC on, it went straight to BIOS and asked me to enable something I forgot its name.

Making the bootable flash drive for windows 8.1 ISO, will report here if I need any help.

Tnx Nate ;)

All went fine. Installing softwares now.

btw, I had some softwares installed on my original windows: A blue program showing CPU temp and stuff, another grey program came up every now an then offering BIOS updates which had the name Asus FourceUpdater whenever I checked Task Manager.

Where do I get them?

Nice !

you can get the latest drivers and updates here, select your operating system.

Depending on your video card you can get the driver from the NVidia web site.

By the way, which software can I see graphic card temprature and have fan speed control?

I checked NVIDIA it says if you have the updated driver you should have it in your Panel but I dont.
