Got this today @ Best Buy

I bought this today @ Best Buy. They have them in stock in my area. This laptop is mad cool.

I thought this was a touch screen like the G751 I had. I didn't know they make them standard. I really wanted a touch screen model.

Unfortunate. Is there any G752 model coming soon that is a touch screen?

Touch screen was only available on the lowest-end G751, because it's not really something gamers need on a high end gaming pc. It's unlikely you'll see a touch screen G752.

rats. one of the things I wanted in my new laptop. no real reason, just wanted touchscreen.

this g752 is real quick. the design is very nice. the keyboard font is kind of odd. it reminds me of quake 2 console font.

the feel of the hardware is nicer then the g751. seems a lot more smoother than the other one I had. there are no bumps or grooves on the g752 at all anywhere around the keyboard or the front of the laptop near the lights. I had the bumps issue on the g751.

one issue I am noticing is that the NVidia experience has been loading for like 20 minutes. hopefully that is not a problem already right off the bat.

Toronto, are you asking if I have gsync working? I have no idea. I haven't really used the machine. how do I know?

Nvidia Control Panel .

Dodgers this is something I would like to know as well. In the Nvidia control panel on the sidebar you should see something that says either set up g sync or variable refresh rate (uncommon nomenclature).

I know this is way after the original post, but I just wanted to let everyone know there *IS* a G752 model with touchscreen, I bought one and it arrived yesterday. The model number is ASUS ROG G752VL-UH71T .
It works great and come with absolutely no bloatware whatsoever, its a miracle! lol This model also has a 75hz display with G-Sync and a NVME PCI-E SSD (even though the amazon page says nothing about these)

I am a gamer, but I am also a software developer, and the touchscreen is super useful for testing web-based touch apps and runs Android apps using Bluestacks!

Touch screen is definitely a personal preference. With that being said......

I find touch screen on a lap top useless and cumbersome. Reaching out over the keyboard is not only cumbersome, its ergonomically incorrect and will lead to problems over extended periods. particularly with the lower back.
For a 2 in one or a tablet touchscreen can be great. I have an ASUS android tablet as well as a Microsoft surface pro 4 and use the touch screen on those devices about 50% of the time. All the rest Im using the keyboard and mouse/trackpad. All depends on what Im doing. If it involves using a keyboard at all I'm not using the onscreen version.

Would it be possible to buy a replacement screen of a ASUS ROG G752VL-UH71T (with touchscreen) and have it installed by a IT skilled guy into a G752VY 8gb GTX980M laptop? Sure we'd lose warranty but the laptop would have touchscreen, useful for people who like to draw.. ?

Or would the internal parts be incompatible?

Anything is possible....

There is already a solution for people who like to draw that is cheaper than this. Wacom is just one of them or buy another solution. You wont be doing much drawing on a screen that cant be laid out flat and you have to reach over a keyboard before your arms get very tired and cramp.
I bought a M$ surface pro IV for such tasks. Touch screen on that actually makes sense, not so much on a gaming laptop.
