Its winter time so...
I did get a lot of static shocks here and there.
This is the first winter that I'm having with this laptop.
Yesterday I tried to pull out my headphone
but I got a static shock (pretty big one) lol
is this normal for laptops with metal frames?
also would a static shock from casing damage the internal components?
Thank you

This is pretty normal, as the case should be grounded.
It also should not harm the notebooks interieur, however I would recommend preventing this.
I slip out of my shoes and touch the hardfloor only having socks, so all electricity goes slowly into the ground w/o shocking me.
You could also touch a water faucet.
