Found an older G73JW for around $550, decent condition, and wanted to know if this was an ok price?
This is the one with the i7-740QM, 8 Gig DDR3, and has a GTX 460M.

My first thought is that that's a very high price for such an old computer.

Yea, that's what I figured. I wasn't able to find anything current (minus ebay) on pricing. I thought of jumping on it to replace my G60 for all my CAD projects. I just found the VW version for the same price and decided to go with that one.

I get G53's G74's all day for around $400 used. I usually resell them around 600+. $550 for a G73 (any version) would be on the high end. I suppose if it was refurbished by a tech that knew what he was doing it would be worth that much.

I've heard from several customers and the community that the G74sx is king when it comes to CAD. It can support 32gb of ram and supports 2 hard drives. If the G73 doesn't meet your needs look into the g74sx.

My mistake, the VW I found was a G75VW with the dual ssd and hybrid drives. It came with only 8g of ram so I dropped it off at the Fremont location to have 32 put in and have it factory reset/cleaned/et al. I picked it back up yesterday and spent all night doing the Win 10 b/s and will be installing CAD after work today. Super excited!!
