For my G751JY, I consider Win10 an actual upgrade. Not less stable or less easily usable than Win7 and has more features (not to mention things like DX12). At least, this was my experience. Definitely better than Win8 for me, on all accounts.

I my opinion - Win10 "desktop work" ( i.e office, internet browsing etc.. ) works/behave faster on any laptop I'd put it on (my G751JT included ) in comparison to win 7,8,8.1 - and also much more stable ( if you disagree, wait another year till windows updates will fix stuff, or install windows insider's win10 version )
Also, Many sites ( google for windows 10 benchmarks ) claims that windows 10 gaming gives a bit better FPS.. but it is game dependent.

My general advises about "upgrading" to win10:

Do not just "upgrade" and stay with it... cuz upgrading process not done from scratch might cuz you a VERY LARGE HEADACHE in the long run: BSOD, driver not properly installed etc..etc..
Thus, A CLEAN INSTALL OF WINDOWS 10 IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Is you time important to you ? Do you want to format and upgrade at the same time ?
Read GUIDE: HOW TO (EASILY!) UPGRADE FROM WIN7 SP1/8.1 WITHOUTGOING THROUGH THE UPGRADE PROCESS ITSELF ! (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?76993-Guide-How-to-install-windows-8-8-1-10-The-proper-way-(UEFI-based-installation)&p=538711&viewfull=1#post538711)
Make SURE, your windows will be running on GPT formated drive (instead of MBR) and booted with UEFI instead of OLD BIOS ( in the bios: "UEFI"=CSM OFF, "OLD BIOS" = CSM ON )
Worried about privacy violation ?
see my remarks HERE, under STEP 3 (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?76993-Guide-How-to-install-windows-8-8-1-10-The-proper-way-(UEFI-based-installation)&p=538710&viewfull=1#post538710)
Missing the "START" win7 like button ?
There are many solutions in the market: StartIsBack (http://startisback.com/), Classic Shell (http://www.classicshell.net/) etc....

Please note that I won't answer technical question in this thread, Only in the STICKY THREAD "How to install windows 8/8.1/10 The proper way (UEFI based installation)" (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?76993-Guide-How-to-install-windows-8-8-1-10-The-proper-way-(UEFI-based-installation)) - so we can have a technical help "database" concentrated in ONE thread.

I did a clean install in October, and I'm back on windows 8 again.

The issues I encountered were :
randomly crashing GPU drivers
random windows crashing on resume from sleep mode
sound stuttering via bluetooth headset requiring a driver reset
wifi connectivity drops
Dragon Age inquisition not starting due to incompatibility with windows 10

Maybe it got better since then, personally I'll wait a couple more months.

I say upgrade and try it for a week. The reason being it is free right now but it will not be free if you don't lock it in now. Windows 10 is only a free upgrade for people with 7/8/8.1 for a year(since release). Upgrading locks you in for it being free.

You can always downgrade if you don't like it afterwards.

Check asus website if your model is supported for windows 10. My old G74sx is not so I wont upgrade it to w10. So far, I don't have issues with windows 10 in my new G752.

Where did you find the compatibility on the ASUS site. I'm trying to see if my Z87-Deluxe is Windows 10 ok?

Its listed under "The following motherboards offer Windows 10 driver for OS upgrade and compatible installation:" but not the main section so I hope that's still going to be ok...

This doesn't mean anything. G751 was supported since summer, still bug ridden as of october.

You can always downgrade if you don't like it afterwards.
This doesn't always go as well as you would expect.
People here have reported problems that occurred on their systems after upgrade and even more so after a subsequent downgrade.
Also, an ASUS user reported that his "system restore" partition became useless after his upgrade to windows 10
You can upgrade, but you should backup all of your partitions (including EFI partition), if you want to keep the original ASUS system restore partition. I got rid of it and installed windows 8.1 clean from a usb stick.

I have a G73Sw, and I upgraded to the free version of Windows 10, even though my laptop wasn't on the list. There are software solutions freely available to solve that issue. It took a while to install, but Win 10 works well, and I'm very happy with it. Boot times are way faster than Win7. Do a search on google, for " why am I not getting the Win 10 update on my taskbar "? Microsoft also provides advice
as well. It can be done.

Hello. I did an upgrade of my G74SX from Win7 to Windows 10 and I did not notice any problems with drivers or applications. Before my upgrade, I restored my computer to factory state, removed bloatware, installed games and applications and then made the upgrade. No problems encountered. Thanks.

Windows 10 is probably the World Worst OS version has been released from microsoft after windows 8 ! So I suspect it's gonna Fail again like win 8 again ,Because Everything is terrible in Windows 10 comparing with XP or 7 .
Actually Dont upgrade ,Just stay with windows 7 Ultimate
