Hi All,

Trying to install win 7 pro on a GL552VW

I disabled secure boot, enabled launch csm and pxe policy and made sure legacy USB support is enabled. I can boot to the win 7 dvd, erase partitions and install, but throughout the whole process there is no USB, so trackpad and external mouse do not work. Any idea where I'm going wrong?

Thanks!

The version I am using on my GL552VW 64-bit Win7:
Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver _4.0.0.36
Seems Intel took the link to the 4.0.0.36 driver down, you can try the newest version from Intel site:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=USB

or PM me and I can email it to you

Thank you! I'll try the newest one first.

Just to confirm, did you also not have any USB or trackpad functionality prior to installing the driver?

yep. Downloaded all drivers and burned iso to DVD and did the alt-tab, windows key thing to get by until mouse could be recognized.
