I'm having a problem with my G751JT-DB73 I purchased last August. It's worked fine until now, when quite a few problems are happening at once:

-The Steam Big Picture key doesn't work

-The ROG key doesn't work

-The ShadowPlay key doesn't work

-Trying to launch NVIDIA control center or GeForce Experience doesn't work

-I have no control over my keyboard backlight (although it's always on, I can't adjust the brightness like I used to with Fn+F3 F4, and after putting my laptop into sleep mode the light turns off entirely until I restart my laptop.)

Those are the problems I've noticed so far, and I have no idea what the problem could be. Does anyone else have any ideas? Anyone with a similar problem here?

Hello there new ROG citizen,
Please note that even an older version of your PipBoy (aka: your PC) might hold in its archive (aka: this sub-forum) answers to similar question that you might arise.

We @Vault-Tec, wish to let you know that no matter which PipBoy version you hold, the minute you have entered ROG country, you're able to SEARCH FOR ANYTHING using your own private PipBoy.... and it is really simple !
Just look at the right upper corner of your PipBoy, then enter your query in the "Search" field, Hit enter and viola!

We also wish remind you that nowadays, in every house, you can find the old but good g.o.o.g.l.e which can assist you further in your search inquiries. just open-up your personal g.o.o.g.l.e and enter what-ever you wish to search with the addition of the epilogue" site:https://rog.asus.com/forum"

We @Vault-Tec, wish to state that these kind of query returns the best answers, to any situation you might find yourself during your wilderness trips, in the ASUS galaxy.
Thus, there is no need to mini-nuke your "opponent" ( aka open a new thread ) as there are already better known ways to eliminate your problems ( aka searching for the issue & reading about the solution - even if they're written for other PipBoy version ( aka other laptop models) )

You might ask your self - "why should I bother" ?
Well, leaving a reply in an already opened thread, with same/similar topic, can help the ROG community by having ONE THREAD that debates same subject, instead of many many others.
That way, the ROG community will have a "library of knowledge" on same topic - IN ONE PLACE.

We also, @Vault-Tec, worked really hard to concentrate the most important, most debated subjects, and PINNED SOME OF THE THREADS AT THE START OF THE 1st PAGE of this forum.
Just for example, in the sticky thread "G751 How to change the Steam, Shadowplay buttons and Backlight timeout settings" you can see that your issue/subject is already being debated.
Also, we run a "search" through our Pipboy for the term "backlight problem" and found the following already opened threads:
Here (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?81196-G751-keyboard-backlight-not-turning-on-in-Windows-10&highlight=backlight+problem), Here (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?77208-ROG-G751JY-Windows-10-Backlight-issue&highlight=backlight+problem), Here (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?77135-Asus-G751jm-backlight-issues&highlight=backlight+problem), Here (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?70661-ASUS-ROG-G751JL-gt-gt-Keyboard-Backlit&highlight=backlight+problem)and HERE (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?61623-G751jy-unable-to-change-backlight-(fn-F5-fn-F6)&highlight=backlight+problem) ( we might compose a music for that later on )

As always, feel free to visit us at the ROG central forum for any future question ( best by following the above recommendation )

Good luck & Godspeed on your journey in the Asus galaxy,

Well then. Had fun with that response, did we? A simple "topic has already been brought up, use search function" would've been more than sufficient. No need to get smart and snarky.

Hello there once again ROG citizen,
The ROG population is known to be non-telepathic in their current life time.
It is highly advisable to tell others any other tech details so they'll have a slight chance to help you, e.i what's your current windows version ?
If your machine is win10 -> read HERE (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?77208-ROG-G751JY-Windows-10-Backlight-issue&p=539913&viewfull=1#post539913).
Also, do yourself a favor and completely UNINSTALL Asus's "GameFirst III" app&driver ( search this sub-forum for all the 1M reasons for that ).

Well then. Had fun with that response, did we? A simple "topic has already been brought up, use search function" would've been more than sufficient. No need to get smart and snarky.

Please note that we @VaultTec prefer to convey basic principles using humor.
we found after intensive statistical calculation ( thanks to Mr. Gatsy ) that humor is highly valuable & appreciated, much more then the DIRECT METHOD (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?77218-G751JY-Steam-Gaming-Center-keyboard-keys-not-working&highlight=STOP+FILLING+FORUM+REPEATED)used by our previous fired spokesman.
after all - who wants another fallout ? ( well.. if it's 5 we do... but till then, humor stays )

We wish you the best of luck finding the right remedy for your problem.

VaultTec.

Im with you! This message is saved as a template and if you look at someones profile you will see it repeated at least 100 times.

The bulk of your problem is with the ATK package. I would try to uninstall all instances of it and then search to make sure all the folders for the install are gone too. Reboot f2 to get into bios and F9 to load optomized defaults. Then if youve changed your boot drive parameters make that correct, save and exit. Then reinstall the ATK package. CC cleaner does a better job at uninstalls than program manager does and with it you can also scan the registry go get rid of inconsistencies there.

Nvidia issues are a separate problem.

Again a nice fresh install after getting rid of the other traces usually does the trick for that. Download the latest driver and have it ready.
Download and install DDU then run it. It will prompt you to reboot into safe mode, it does this without further intervention from you when you click OK. Once in Safe mode and the app relaunches make sure its set to Nvidia and select remove and restart. It will uninstall and wipe all the traces of it including multiple instances that are usually the root of the problems.

Once you are rebooted launch the Nvidia driver installer and select custom or advanced, cant recall at the moment but you only have two choices, the other is express, dont select. When the advanced menu pops up select clean install at the bottom then follow the prompts.

Thank you for this detailed answer! While I'm not the most tech-savvy person, I will absolutely be trying this out. I'll update with how it works out.
