Hi guys , i just bought a g751jy-dh72 laptop ... i want to use my 22'' monitor when i am home .

i was wondering if there is a better way to connect it .. Hdmi or vga !? for gaming does any of those have less performance !?

ive been told by a friend that sometimes the hdmi is not controled by the gpu but the cpu instead ??

HDMI is what you want verse using VGA. VGA is great to have as an old legacy connector for older monitors or a spare. Most brands shy away from including this port nowadays.

In notebooks where Optimus is used, it would be output fed by the CPU iGPU. In systems with a dedicated graphics card, then it's through the dGPU instead.
