Last week received new G501VW.
It seems to be running always on IntelHD graphics 530.
Im not using for games just for network dynamics graphs (gephi) and 960 will do better as Intel.
Should I disable that intel graphics card to enable higher resolution and/or performance??

Thx in advance-

The intel is built into the CPU, not two graphics cards. Its simply to reduce battery consumption but causes performance degradation. If you want performance all the time and sacrifice battery run time disable it. On the higher end gaming rigs its disabled completely, you don't get a choice. Your machine may have options in the BIOS to disable it or conversely you can do it from Nvidia control panel.

1. Open NVIDIA control panel.
2. Manage 3D settings
3. Global settings tab
4. Power Management Mode settings, select "Prefer Maximum Performance"

Thx Justin.
I've done all you're suggesting

1. Open NVIDIA control panel.
2. Manage 3D settings
3. Global settings tab
4. Power Management Mode settings, select "Prefer Maximum Performance"

but not sure if nvidia graphic card is being used.

And for the bios options, there is not such an option to disable intel graphic card, just a

graphic configuration
DVMT Pre-allocated [32M->512M, 5 options]

Googled 'bout disabling Intel graphic card on device administrator, users said that will provoke black screen as first graphic card that system runs is Intel one...

Anyway, thanks a lot.
