I recently received a G752VY as a gift.

It turned out to be a model that lacked the SSD in its configuration or whatever reason but the rest of the specs were in line with the various other versions that could be found commonly around. Including the i7-6700HQ, GTX980M, etc.

So I am considering whether I should upgrade with at least a 256 or 500/512 GB SSD.

However, I have no idea what to do about the issue of the OS. Which is currently installed on the HDD of this laptop.

I doubt its possible to just transfer it to the SSD, or is it? Logically it seems that it would only be possible to install it onto the SSD again, but this is also another issue. How to do this? The laptop probably won't work right with two instances of windows 10 running on it.

Does anyone have any idea of the course of action to take?

First off which drive are you getting? That will dictate how you go about this.
