So i wanted to play some games and went to open up my laptop and heard a pop, looked and seen the screen bezel cracked at the hinges!

Is this a common issue and can it be repaired fairly easy without having to take it to a shop. im out of warranty with Asus so if it can be fixed i would rather do it myself.

Does anyone have a link to where i can get parts and know exactly what i need thanks.

Not common, you are the first Ive seen post about it.
Ive also not seen anywhere that lists only the bezel, they all list the the entire panel for about half the price of a new machine!

Here is one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/GENUINE-ORIGINAL-ASUS-Touch-Screen-With-BEZEL-G751J-G751JY-DH71-SERIES-/172024270276?hash=item280d720dc4:g:-JcAAOSwtUtXA9jd

In the listing (mid way) it says:

Compatible Product Line: For Asus G751J G751JL-BSI7T28 SERIES

You're in luck!

Honestly though, if you're gonna through that much trouble to replace the bezel, you might want to check the hinge movement (perhaps it binding) before doing such a replacement or it'll just happen again.

If you do it clean and have the patience, you could try and fix it or possibly make it worse by doing some form of plastic welding (from the inside of the bezel) using a soldering iron. You could try superglue (inside of the bezel again), but it may turn your plastic white from the chemicals in the glue where you applied it. The choices...

yea im not going to try the super glue method just for that reason. i have some 5 minute epoxy that i could try and put on the back side. But i dont want to tackle taking the screen off and the bezel.
