Hiya,

This has probably been covered loads, but how fast can the M.2 slot go? I've managed to install Windows 10, however, testing gives me 750MBs write, 808MBs read. It's supposed to be 1200 MBps write and 2200MBps read.

Do I need a better motherboard?

Do I need a better motherboard?

The Maximus VII Range supports up to PCIe 2.0 x2 on the M.2 interface, which translates 10Gbits (or roughly 1GB/s).
It is quite typical to see the readings you are getting on this platform due to bandwidth limitation.
