View Full Version : G751JL Flashing Battery Indicator Light, not charge past 90%?

A couple days ago my laptop (G751JL) started doing this weird thing where it would charge up to a certain percentage and then the battery indicator light would start flashing orange, despite the fact that it was at about 90% charge.

I searched through past posts and found that others had experienced similar issues (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?34007-Blinking-battery-indicator and https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/3temhq/asus_rog_g751_2014_battery_orange_light_keeps_on/). I tried following the solutions they followed but uninstalling and reinstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery drivers did not work. Last night I attempted the drain to zero method and after plugging it back into the AC, the battery now displays, "90% plugged in, charging".
It no longer flashes (or hasn't yet anyway) but also will not charge past 90%, despite what it says.

Can anyone help me out with this?

UPDATE: After about 2.5 hours or so of use, the light has once again started to flash orange. The battery no longer says charging but is still stuck at 90%. It continues to work off battery but no longer gives any indication of drain over time. Please advise on how to fix this issue.
