Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem.
Out the box, My G752VT is taking about 60 seconds to boot to the windows login screen.
From there it can take another 30+ seconds to finish loading windows to a point where i can start working.

I'm running an i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.6Hz
16Gb Ram
I dont have an SSD atm, so I've just got the HDD that comes with it.

Thanks

Its because of the HDD. Even the fastest 7200RPM or 10000RPM HDD will not match the speed of the slowest SSD. I've also got a G752VT.

128GB NVME m2 SSD as boot drive (note: this is the stock Samsung OEM slower drive)
Took out the DVD drive and swapped it with a 256GB 2.5" Kingston SSD (the cheapest one) for all the heavy games (Witcher 3, GTAV, etc)
1TB 7200RPM HDD (stock) for all other files and smaller games.

First thing is the drive does come into play but it should not be 60 seconds. Update your BIOS.
Second that 'Last BIOS time" is convoluted horse manure. I just looked on the machine I'm on at the minute, a G751JL with a 512GB Samsung 850 pro SSD, and I guarantee you its not booting in 2 seconds! Its pretty quick but not that quick. More like 8-10 seconds.

Thanks for the replies,

I'm not expecting a 2 second boot, thats for sure.
My friend has an MSI with just slightly lower specs than mine and it boots up in about 10-15 seconds with a HDD, That's sort of my benchmark.

I've timed this laptop so i know that the last bios time in task manager is a bit off.

I have used the Asus WinFlash utility before, it says that my BIOS version is 205 and that it's the latest.
I have read on the forum that there is a newer version for the G752VT , but I haven't found a link to it yet. (Edit: Got the 216 on the international website)
Anybody have one?

(edit again, I have flashed the BIOS with 216, No appreciable difference in boot speeds.)

Thanks again for the input.
