mPCIe combo III compatible with a Maximus VI Gene?

Hi there!

i recently bought an Asus MAXIMUS VI GENE motherboard and had it shipped to me, only to find that it didn't have it's mPCIe Combo II card!

looking on eBay, the closest equivalent i could find was the mPCIe Combo III. would that work on my board even though its newer tech on an older board?

I am afraid no.

MPCIE Combo II card is based on 36-2pin pin definition on a relatively bigger connector
MPCIE Combo III card is based on 42-1pin pin definition on a relatively smaller connector

You cannot mix them.

Your best bet is to check with our local service centre in Australia if they can order one for you. (Charges apply, limited to availability)
