How do you make custom cables because I want to customize mine but don't want to do a trial and error till I get it right.

There are tons of videos out there to help you sleeve cables. Check youtube.

That is correct! Para-chord looks better then any other sleeving including MDPC-X IMHO... That is if it is used correctly...

I believe he's referring to the connectors. By the way congrats on winning the hardware.

Ahhh that makes more sense LOL.. I use This (http://www.mnpctech.com/ATX_Molex_Removal_Tools.html) tool.. But, most of my cables are custom made so there are not "ports" to remove...

Thanks for the congrats! Wish it was the RIVE but, free is free.. LOL

They were a limited run weren't they.. If I'm correct you may have a hard time finding one... What's the difference between the BF3 and regular RIVE anyway?

VistaKing

Same exact board. Only difference is the BF3 version comes with a BF3 game code and BF3 lanyard. Other then those two things its the same exact board as the RAMPAGE IV EXTREME comes with same accessories only thing missing in the R4E accessories is the BF3 code and lanyard.

So, why the hold out? Bite the bullet and just buy the game separate.. LOL If it's that big a deal I can see if I still have any BF3 dog tags at the office and send you a set..

I don't play any PC games. I wanted that version to go with my theme build ROG with the air brushing of the BF3 army man on the side panel of the case.

Ummm OK, why all this awesome gaming hardware when you don't even play PC games? If you use your PC for work there are far better workstation type hardware out there..

Great cable sleeving, {uZa}DOA! Do you think, you could do something with the mobo and VGA power cables to give them a more organized look? I mean, the sleeving quality is one of the highest I ever seen, specially like how you resolved at the connector level (usually the hardest part) - but the overall look is perturbed by those individual cables going all the way... Could you keep them somehow parallel? Do you know what I mean?

I've actually even stitched to sleeved cables together for clients before but, didn't bother myself.. LOL. So, yep I could but I like the way they look now personally..

I like having gamer specs. All the desktops I ever had , had gamer specs. It won't don't matter to me I could get the R4E board without the BF3 code and lanyard.

Thank You. I am purchasing my hardware for my build very slowly. I already have the Red LEDs for the fan controller , power light and hard drive activity for the NZXT PHANTOM case. Don't have the case yet though. Also got the EK WATERBLOCKS black compression fittings.

Looking forward to seeing this build! I used the white Phantom for awhile but, I missed my 800D so went back to it.. Just something about the 800D hat makes me swoon.. LOL

FYI, insomnia is a killer... /sadface

The case is going to be painted matte black with red lining . Side Panel is going to be professionally air brushed BF3 army game cover and have the ROG logo and the word " ROG " on the front cover. Red and Black tubing with blood red coolant from EK waterblocks. 360 radiator on the top and a 240 radiator on the bottom. An XSPC reservoir/pump combo in the drive bay. Both reservoirs will have RED LEDs in them. I think the build will be sick looking.

DOA, how do you get the paracord into the sockets? I've been messing around with it, but I've yet to get it into the socket itself. I could do that if I use 3/32" diameter cord, but that stuff is hell trying to get onto 18AWG wire.

Can you post some of your techniques?

i don't know know about the TC but i melt it and roll it above where the wire and connector meet so that it stays on. i use 18 gauge wire off amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HAB7ZU/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01), seems kind of thick compared to what the psu came with and it fits most of the time. if it doesn't i try to tighten the roll a bit and use some small needle nose pliers to help me force it in.

I believe I found the video you were talking about. I was on the right track, but wasn't melting the paracord enough. Was worried about melting the insulation. Apparently my fears were unfounded.

Thanks!
