AMD have presented the new ZEN proccessor for desktop gaming enthusiasts at New Horizon. Can be viewed here whilst available: http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/new-horizon

AMD have created and now demonstrated a processor product and brand in AMD Ryzen, that expresses the power and efficiency of the all-new high-performance and highly efficient “Zen” x86 core CPU. Initial demo's indicate the 8 Core 16 thread processor with 20MB L2 and L3 cache which meets or exceeds expectations.

The RYZEN processor has balance, low power and other features and four years in the making.
Frequency base clock is 3.4GHz or higher and a boost mode that will be announced at launch.
New Features to allow Variable clock speeds depending on the Cooler being used and the new AMD SenceMI to optimize the chip.

A game developer used ZEN to render 3D wireframes live using the Zbrush 4R7 game engine and was very impressive.

A demo of RYZEN was shown during the Horizon launch comparing Intel 6700K which costs ($1100 US) processor v RYZEN and both at stock clock speeds.
BF1 using DX12 was the game comparison using a 4K monitor and Nvidia GTX ****. Frame rates were a constant 60-70 fps. Very impressive.
In another game demo ZEN outpaced the Intel CPU during the Esports demo.

Launch is on track for Q1 2017 and I can't wait to get my hands on one. I do hope ASUS are preparing to launch the new AM4 MBs shortly. :p
